Off the Track: Getting Creative with Chromebooks

Imagination and creativity play a vital role in a developing brain, but our current emphasis on standardized testing has squeezed creativity into one wing of the school. The traditional classroom shouldn’t be the place where we slowly kill children’s creativity. Instead, we should be inviting it. This session will examine ways that students can use the Chromebook to convey messages--informative, analytical, and artistic--via digital images, video, animation, and book creation. We will look specifically at Google Canvas, Pixlr, PicMonkey, Book Creator for Chrome, and Adobe Spark video. This session is appropriate for any instructional level, grades 2-12.
