Project ACE is a student created interactive program designed to help teachers learn how to assist students in the classroom dealing with emotional trauma. It is focused on the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study, a compilation of ten of the most common ways children are victimized by abuse in the household. The program consists of several different scenarios involving students suffering from symptoms of their past and allows teachers to respond in various ways to the situation at hand. The actions chosen determine how the student and classroom reacts in future scenarios, simulating a real life classroom experience. Dealing with issues such as intentional and unintentional defiance, panic attacks, exaggerated startle responses and more, the program enables teachers to effectively reach out to students in troubling times.
