Moving Past the Headlines: Empowering Students to think Critically of News & Media Literacy

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

How can you avoid being fooled by fake videos and other information online? How can filter bubbles limit the information we're exposed to? What rights to fair use do you have as a creator? More now than ever, we must prepare students to identify credible and trustworthy information and reflect on their responsibilities as thoughtful media creators and consumers. Join us as we explore these questions and more with news and media activities from Common Sense Education’s New Digital Citizenship Curriculum, available free to educators. You will leave with tips and resources you can use immediately to encourage students to move past the headlines and think critically about news & media.
